“Captain Phillips” stars two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks in the true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US container ship Maersk Alabama. The film is directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Greengrass.

Born in 1955 in Surrey, England. After making his debut in 1989, Greengrass has directed films including Bloody Sunday (2002) the first prize in Berlin Film Festival, and Bourne series starring Matt Damon. In 2006, Greengrass received much acclaim for United 93, a docudrama based on the September 11 hijacking of United Airlines Flight 93. The film won numerous honors including Academy Award nomination for Best Director.
