Submit your film to the 26th TIFF TOKYO! |
|
Film submissions for the Competition section of 26th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) is now ready on the festival website! (Submission period : April 15th-July 12th)
As one of the biggest film festivals in Asia - TIFF Competition has been showing many outstanding films created by up-and-coming directors as well as premieres of works by prestigious filmmakers of the world. Last year, we were honored to receive 1,332 films from 91 countries and regions, 40 percent increase over the previous year. 15 excellent films were screened after the pre-selection and The Other Son (France) directed by Lorraine Levy won the Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix for the last year's TIFF.

A summary of the Regulations for the Competition 2013 is provided below. With this renewed regulations, TIFF looks forward to even a larger number of submissions from around the world.
The 26th TIFF will take place October 17 - 25, 2013 in Tokyo, JAPAN.
Period: April 15th - July 12th, 2013

Regulations for the Competition 2013 (summary)
1) Must be films completed after January1st 2013.
2) Should not have been screened at main competition section of "competitive feature film festivals (non-specialised)" accredited by FIAPF*1 prior to TIFF.
3) Must have its Asian Premiere at TIFF. World and International Premieres are given priority. Japanese films must have its World Premiere.
4) Must be feature films (including animation) running over 60 minutes.
5) Documentary films are not eligible.
6) Screening material should be in digital format (in high definition), with English subtitles.
The application of these conditions belongs at the discretion of TIFF.

The Awards
TIFF will award the following prizes in accordance with the decision of the International Competition Jury who is obliged to award the following prizes:
-Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix : cash prize of 50,000 USD
(for the producer and the director*2)
-Special Jury Prize : cash prize of 20,000 USD
(for the producer and the director*2)
-Award for Best Director : cash prize of 5,000 USD
-Award for Best Actress : cash prize of 5,000 USD
-Award for Best Actor : cash prize of 5,000 USD
-Award for Best Artistic Contribution : cash prize of 5,000 USD
(Photography, Sound, Art Direction, Music, Script etc.)
*2 The cash prize is to be shared equally by the producer and the director.
