April 1, 2013 Notification of Personnel Changes at UNIJAPAN Mr. Hideyuki Takai, President of Unijapan, resigned effective March 31, 2013, and Mr. Junichi Sakomoto, President of Shochiku Co., Ltd., assumed the post on the same date. In other personnel changes, Mr. Yoshishige Shimatani, President of Toho Co., Ltd., has replaced Mr. Yusuke Okada as Chairman of the 26th TIFF Executive Committee. These changes were approved at the Meeting of the Board on March 15, 2013. Mr. Yasushi Siina, Director-Executive Advisor, Kadokawa Pictures, Kadokawa Shoten Co., Ltd., has been appointed Director General of TIFF & TIFFCOM effective April 1, succeeding veteran Mr. Tom Yoda who served as Chairman of Tokyo International Film Festival for five years. These new appointments will ensure another successful year for Unijapan and Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF & TIFFCOM). Thank you for your continuous support and guidance. "Call for Entries" starts in late April! TIFF marked its memorable 25th edition last year under the slogan; "The Power of Films, Now!," For the Competition, we were honored to receive 1,332 films from 91 countries and regions, 40 percent increase over the previous year. 15 excellent films were screened after the pre-selection and The Other Son (France) directed by Lorraine Lévy won the Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix for the last year's TIFF.
